You had something else in that alpha channel. It wasn't the alpha channel that is automatically part of an FLM file. Look for a channel you didn't put there that has a box for every frame. (I don't remember if it's white boxes with black borders or vice versa.) _________________ Interested in showcasing your special effects or learning some new ones from the masters? Check out PSFX! |

How many alpha channels do you see in the FLM file? _________________ Interested in showcasing your special effects or learning some new ones from the masters? Check out PSFX! |

Wow, I've had a rather stupid moment. You're right--what I suggested wouldn't work. Sorry about that. You'll have to use the rectangular marquee tool to fill the unwanted glow areas with black (or delete them). Ignore what I said about the alpha channels.
Sorry. It's been a year or so since I've worked with a filmstrip file, and I didn't think. _________________ Interested in showcasing your special effects or learning some new ones from the masters? Check out PSFX! |

I'm saying there's no automated way to do it. The manual method is easy, but it takes a while. Partial solution: try not to get the camera in so close. This will reduce the glow leakage problems to some extent. (I know you didn't shoot this footage, so that's not your fault this time.)
It seems like the filmstrips I've worked with have thicker borders between the frames. Perhaps I've got different settings in Premiere than you, or it's a different version. But if you can figure out a way to generate FLMs with thicker borders, your problem will rarely bother you. _________________ Interested in showcasing your special effects or learning some new ones from the masters?
