This is my first post here on photoshopforums.com and I have a question. I noticed that this forum, the legendary frog forum, the madnesscombat forum all look a lot like this...may i ask what program people used to make this forum and is there a website that I could make my own forum and make it like this one?

Yo.

I'm interested in having a forum for a student society at my university. Will php BB be acceptable? We anticipate that we may have as many as 100 members of our group, not all of which will post on the forum. Will php BB be aceptable ofr such a small number of users and posts or is there something better for small forums?

thanks,
-travis

just a word of advise if you are going to be wanting people to be able to attach images or files to the board, make sure the attachments hack is the first one you install because it will save you a ton of time.

phpbb is great for small forums, I used it for a year and a half before switching to vb :) if you need any help let me know ~ekosh

Oh yeah, thanks for bringing tthat up-
do I get the hack from hte phpBB website or is it from elsewhere?

THis forum is for my university's VASA (Visual Arts Student Association), and as such I imagine there will be a desire to post high-quality images of our work for discussion, etc... Is there any way I can change the attachment size limitations or anything?

phpBB is fine for large/larger sites. My largest is nearly 300,000 posts. You will want to File Attachment Hack. We have it installed here.

Yes, you can change the size limitations. :)

beautiful!
I will post a link if it gets going. We are still waiting for a response from out IT department regarding our web space. They wanted us to use a template and have the page looking like evry other page on the university website, that that just wouldn't be acceptable for a visual arts association

Thanks, guys, for all your help :) what a great forum
