Hi All,
This is so irritating please please bear with me on this one it is quite long in the tooth, i am opening my images from my folder called original images were they have not been altered, I open the folder by using photoshop cs2, go into FILE and then go into OPEN, I then find my folder as usual c:/ drive - my documents- my pictures- original images ETC.
Now heres the problem, when i have finished altering the image I then want to save it into a new folder called Basic Enhancements. I then go into File, SAVE AS then have to go into my folders again My Documents - My pictures - basic enhancements, then save.
Ok, now i want to go back into my original image to alter the next one on the list. so i go into open - file, when i do it is showing the basic enhancements folder were i saved my last image. now i have to go and find my original image folder via my pictures - original image and choose the next image on the list to alter
This seems to me a long way around, why does'nt photoshop remember were you open and saved your work seperatley? Is their any quick way all
Sorry, but...ummmm....no. Photoshop remebers the last folder you were in, and "defaults" to it.
If you are making the same adjustments to each image (auto levels, +10 cyan, image>image size>200 dpi etc. etc.) then you could create an action that will open the image, adjust it accordingly, then save it to a different folder.
Also, you could open up all your images at once then work on them then save them. If there's a ton of images, you could just open up 5 or 10 at a time. This will make it easier when saving and opening, but depending on your computer and the amount of RAM that you've got, it may cause your computer to lag.

I do it a different way, open the original, image/duplicate, close the original and work on the dup then when you close it, it will save to the original folder, when your finished just cut and paste the "copies" to your other folder. Wayne
Not exactly sure what wyne was saying there, but I just save everything that I've altered in a subfolder to the origonal location, then it's only one extra click to navigate up and down one level. And of course I move the alterations to where I want them after I'm done. _________________ brush your hair and comb your teeth
