Psd 7 File "new" options window gone

File "new" options window and on an open doc all the sub menues are gone,as in image size,curves etc.they are there as it locks up the program until you hit enter,but they are not visible.tried reinstalling and installing to a different drive and cleaned out the registry and all related and it still does it.had to put in psd 6 and all is well. any ideas? scott
