In my older versions of Photoshop I used to get an Explorer window come up when I accessed Help, now with Photoshop CS when I press F1 for Help it connects to the Web then the help files are opened. Is there any way I can stop AOL from kicking in and still open the help files? |

Good luck,..it will be back!

Back up anything important BEFORE removing AOL, I personaly know 2 people who have uninstalled AOL and it's taken parts of Windows with it!

If you must have AOL, then try this: Go to Start>Run. Type in "msconfig" (without the quotes " "). Uncheck any and all boxes that are next to anything related to AOL. This should keep AOL from starting when your computer starts. Click ok, then restart your machine (I think it'll tell you that you have to restart). When it restarts, a warning will pop up saying that you have made changes to the way windows starts....... you know this already, so check the box that says something like "do not show this dialogue at start up" then click ok. I think this should solve your problems, because from the sounds of it, AOL is starting whenever you start internet explorer, so when you press F1 for photoshop help, AOL fires up. You may also want to go into your preferences within AOL itself and uncheck anything says things like "start when windows starts", "start when Internet Explorer starts", "Start when an internet connection is present" etc. etc.
Let us know how you make out. _________________ All gave some, some gave all.....Lest we forget that war produces veterans, wounded both mentally and physically, and it is our job to help them now, as they have already helped us all in ways we will never know, and in ways that we take for granted every day. |
