I have this really big project to finish for school, and its due this friday. I need a response by wednesday (tommorow) or early thursday! PLEASE
I have to rotoscope 1160 frames, so I need to get this done in a hurry. Now this stupid problem has come up and I dont know how to fix it!
First off, my computer used to work fine with Photoshop and stuff.
I have to rotoscope something (edit frame by frame), so I imported my .flm (filmstrip) file to edit
and it worked fine yesterday.
By the way it is a 2.20GB file, but that is fine, it worked normally before.
So I saved an extra version as a .psd file that was what I was playing with yesterday while rotoscoping.
I closed photoshop, and today I opened it up and I am trying to open my .psd file again but now it just makes a new file.
Like, the icon where the file is located still says its a psd file and still shows a thumbnail but it just WONT open.
Here is exactly what happens:
1) I open up Photoshop 7.0
2) I click File > Open
3) I find the file called saberflm.psd
4) Instead of opening that file, it goes as if I had clicked
File > new and names it as saberflm.psd at a 1280x1024 resolution, and if I do click okay, it just starts as a blank file with those settings.
I also tried just going to my folder and double clicking the .psd file but it continues to do the same thing, it just loads up Photoshop and does that !
PLEASE I need help, I am so clueless of how to fix this, it is such a random error.

First of all is the PSD the same file size? or has it only saved part of it? second thing I'd try deleteing preferences (see below) that sometime fixes bugs How many layers did the saved file have?
1. Quit Photoshop.
2. Rename the Adobe Photoshop CS2 Prefs.psp file (for example, to Adobe Photoshop CS2 Prefs.old) in the Documents and Settings\ [username] \Application Data\Adobe\Photoshop\9.0\Adobe Photoshop CS2 Settings folder.
3. Start Photoshop. Photoshop creates a new preferences file.
If the problem continues, the preferences file isn't the cause. To restore custom settings, delete the new preferences file and restore the original name of the previous preferences file.
Try those and see if they help Wayne
Instead, of doing what you have said since I was in a rush, I cut my movie into parts, so now the files are only like 500megs. It seems to run better now, but its more time consuming since I have to load and re-load other parts of the movie. If I ever run into having to play with 2.2gb files, ill do what you said!
Thanks so much for helping _________________ +Moogle
