Hi all....another newbie here. I have Photoshop 7, but not very familiar with it.
I'm trying super-impose the bust of a PSD image (without the white background) on top of another GIF image, and I cannot figure out how to get rid of the white background. If any of you know how to do this, and are willing to go V-E-R-Y slow in explaining it, I'd sure appreciate the help.
Thanks,
Garry (garry@jetcoder.com) |

hi garry,
Try clicking select / color range,
click on the white that u want to remove and adjust the threshold so it selects as much of the white as U want.
click ok,
click delete,
repeat if nessasary.
Then place it ontop of the other image |

This is pathetic! I should be ables do something as simple as that, but...I can;t make it work. I don't know whether to choose "Selection" or "Image"....also, the Eyedropper is what I'm clicking with (dunno why)...is that correct? WHen I click the (-) symbol, nothing happens.
I could attach the file here, maybe, if you think would help; maybe something's haywire with the file, or something.
Thanks for the help, though...

you want "image" not "selection". You should be using the eyedropper. Click once to select a colourr ange, then click"+" so that any further clicks will add to your current selection. _________________ brush your hair and comb your teeth |

and try changing the mode of your GIF (Color Index) file to RGB. GIF will not support layers. (Image>Mode>RGB). Don't know how you are going about this, but changing mode may help. |
