I have a gray scale tiff image that will be printed on a corrugated fibreboard carton. I need to show what this image will look like at 45 DPI when viewed on a screen and printed out in a PDF file. How would I show the actual 45 DPI in the image itself? I Have seen images before that are in 45 or other DPI but for the life of me can't figure out how to do it. I have Photoshop 4 here at home on my laptop and am about ready to pull my hair out trying to figure this out.

Any help is appreciated and thank you beforehand.

two things come to mind:

1) figure out waht you screen resolution is. Something like screen height in pixels divided by screen height in inches equals screen dpi. let's just pretend you got 75 from that. Then go 75 divide by 45 times 100 and that is the percentage you want to display your imnage at on screen. Type that number into the navigator.

And check to make sure my math is correctfor choosing the display size. I'm not sure if it'd be 45/screenres or screenres/45. Can someone who's good at math clear ir up

2) can't you just print a test onto a standard sheet of paper?
