I have recently upgraded to CS and have noticed that there is a delay - about 4 seconds- when I click the mouse pointer onto any of the tools before it changes to that tool. The same thing happens when I move the tool over an image. I have a fairly decent PC :- P4 3.2 G / 1G Ram /gigabyte nvidia Geforcefx 5900xt / 75Gig hard drive with 60 Gig free. is there something I need to adjust/set to cure this?

CS or CS2?
(CS2 has some performance questions)
more RAM is always better

Weird - I have a slave drive onto which I also installed Photoshop CS (version 8.0)then made this drive the master and the larger the slave. This is only 40Gig and is almost full yet there doesnt seem to be any problem when I run it from this HD.

I think I know what was causing the delay - rather I know how to cure it - if I have keep the file browser open or reduce it then pointer is slow. But if I close the file browser everything seems fine, even if I have as many as 6 images open at once.

I have some problems with CS2 at times as well,if I have been working long on something the program will start to run slower. I just deal with it,or go back later to finish
