Hi ll,
I have been told that CMYK is better for printing photographs than using RGB. My first question is why is CMYK better than RGB and what is the difference as I am printing of family photographs for friends and printing text in colour (typeography). However my main aim for is quality in color and print.
Kind Regards Josel |

No. No. That is wrong for most cases. (Where did this information come from?)
You will get much better results to work in RGB (best is a wide RGB space like AdobeRGB).
Keep your file RGB to output to an inkjet-printer, film recorder, photo-lab, video or web.
ONLY convert to CMYK if you are sending your file to a printing house for a four-color run. |

cbadland is right. RGB has a larger colour space than CYMK. In other words a better colour range for desktop printing.
