Hey guys, I am a newbie to graphic design and Photoshop. I followed this tutorial (http://www.infinitedesigns.org/index.php?cat_id=1&id=44) and my image turned out great. I would like to be able to take just the text put it on another graphic I previously made which, in turn, will end up being a sig. Both images are currntly saved as .PSD's. Can anyone help me? Thanks! |

If they are both .psds, open the .psd with the ext you want on it, and look for the layer with the name of what text you wrote for example, if the text you wrote is:
Jacl, the name of the layer would be Jacl, with a big T in the box next to the layer, you need to click that layer, and whilst holding the click, drag that layer onto the other image, you want the text on, and it wil be there, then use the move tool to mvoe your text around, and if you need to, use CTRL + T, to free transform into the right size
hope that helped _________________ www.jerseyhacker.co.uk

Thanks for replying.
Yeah that helps as far as the transfering goes, but when i followed the tutorial, all of it was done on one layer, execpt for the color. So when I dragged it over, it brought the black background with it. What I think I need to do is somehow try to completely get rid of the black background, to be left with just the text. Here is the picture of the text to give you an idea: http://www.clicksnipers.net/images/thejacl.jpg
Thanks! |

But so are masks. There are things masks can do that channels can't, but also the other way around. It's the combination of the two that is powerful. _________________ www.lunacore.com |

Well… technically a Layer mask is an Alpha Channel.
By definition if you “LEARN all about Alpha Channels...”, that would include layer masks. |
