that's a toughy. You can change the color of the man with a solid layer set to color (to make hi morange). the only thing I can think of to actually get flames would be to brush them. Hopefully someone else has a better idea.

I don't think there is any easy way to do this effect. The second image would be fairly simple because the fire is mostly behind him (just put the man on a layer in front of the fire, then put a little bit of fire in front of him with a lower opacity and/or a blending effect). Making the flames come off of the man is tough because fire is 3D and so is the person, so wrapping one with the other starts to go beyond what Photoshop is capable of.

I played with it...yeah it's do-able but not sure how go it is..cut out a figure and add the fire..I think it would work ok if you made the fire on small parts of the body at a time instead of the whole figure.

Good luck,

Lasa

This was done in particleIllusion rather quicky. I'm sure if I were to play around with it a bit I could come up with something that looks presentable.Time does not permit.

make a black background,
put a blue circle on a new layer ontop of the black background.
select the circle layer,
goto eyecandy/ fire,
& mess with all the cool buttons.
I dont have PS right in front of me right now but i know
u can make the fire only behind the shape or infront,
u can make it look hotter, longer flames, more movement<="makes the fire wiggle to give the impression of movement." just use the directional attribute just like lighting effects.
BTW eyecandy also does smoke.
& if you do the smoke after u do the fire, then all the attributes in the smoke filter will already be set to the same as the fire filter.<=only works if u havn't closed PS yet.

Remember With Eyecandy, most of the time u have to have the shape on its own layer & u must have it selected if u want to get the proper effect.

I do have some PSD's that i used that filter & they are really good.
Unfortunally i dont have them right now but maybe i will post them when i get home.
