I have a character icon that I scanned (see it here) but the color is kind of patchy because of the high resolution. Is there some simple way to clean this up in Photoshop so that all the colors are nice and solid? I'd appreciate any advice. Thanks!

That was my method of last resort. Thanks for the offer, but knowing what that entails, I can't ask someone else to do it.

Oh no, you can do it in a few minutes. Just make a BW version showing just the black outlines. (I did it from the red channel)
Then use paint bucket tool to fill-in solid colors.

(Do it my easy way but just tell them you’ve spent hours on it. That’s been my secret here at work for years. Brow)

Just to elaborate: Make a true high contrast just showing black outlines. (I based it on the red channel and adjusted with Levels.) Then I ran the Median Filter to smooth out the lines some. Then it's free sailing with Eyedropper and Paint Bucket tools.

I just did it and it worked great...question the way I did it was to delete the other channels..but then it left me in multichannel mode?, I changed it to grayscale then rgb...I'm sure theres a easier way?
