hey all,
I created a banner for a project I had to do. However I forgot what I did in order to get this effect, i know i got the image of woodlands and pasted in an image of a humming bird, i blurred the woodlands and then I selected part of the woodlands and the hummingbird and then did something with the layers to merge them togther. The banner is posted below:
I know it aint very good but could someone just tell me what this is called so I can lookup up more on it and practice.
Thanks. |

You could have overlapped the two and used the eraser set low and erased th over lapping lines.
or you can set up a vector mask and either use the gradient to blend the two or paint with a solt black brush set low.
Hope it helps,

Actually i think it was something like the second. I didnt use an eraser i simply used thre selection tool then adjusted the opacity i think or something like that. Will have a little play around might jog my memory :/ Is there a gd site where it tells you how to use stuff like gradient maps etc. I found some sites but they had guides like spot healing red eye removal etc but nothing like this. |

Check out the tutorials on this site. You might find some to be of use to you.
It looks almost like you made a selection on your banner behind the humming bird, then did a motion blur via filter>blur>motion blur. _________________ All gave some, some gave all.....Lest we forget that war produces veterans, wounded both mentally and physically, and it is our job to help them now, as they have already helped us all in ways we will never know, and in ways that we take for granted every day. |
