|
|
Here's my workflow:
open folder in Bridge
ctrl a
ctrl r
Until recently, when adjusting exposure, contrast, etc the adjustment would happen almost instantly. Now when I make any adjustments in camera raw to nikon d2hs file, there is a delay in response - the hourglass comes on before an exposure adjustment or white balance change take effect. This doesn't happen with d2x,d70s, or d1x nef files, which adjust immediately. I've tried everything, restarting, purging caches etc, but for some reason the D2hs raw files are slow to respond to changes. Ironically, they are also the mallest raw files I work with, so they should respond the fastest.
Can someone help me out to correct this? Thanks

Have they always been slow or is this a new thing?
Does the Bridge program (which I am unfamiliar with) automatically save the images in a temp folder before sending them to photoshop, like in Kodak photodesk? If so, empy the folder. If not, then I dunno. _________________ All gave some, some gave all.....Lest we forget that war produces veterans, wounded both mentally and physically, and it is our job to help them now, as they have already helped us all in ways we will never know, and in ways that we take for granted every day. |

Thomas advice worked, but that was for the initial set up. This is something that just started hapenning. The D2x, D70s, D1x files react almost immediately, and they are all larger than the D2hs files. I've tried everything , clearing the cache etc. |

Hmm. It was the exact question you posted here. Maybe you missed it. Here is Mr. Knoll's response:
Quote: |
Adjust the size of the camera raw dialog (make it smaller).
Because Camera Raws starts to preview the sharpening and noise reduction processing at about 50% magnification, you probably have the dialog set to a size where the smaller D2Hs files are above the 50% threshold, while the larger files are below 50% threshold, resulting in the speed difference. |
(for those who don't know- Thomas Knoll and his brother created Photoshop.) |
