There's probably a complicated keyboard shortcut, but the easiest way is to copy and paste one from Microsoft Word.

dude, that sucks. Um, why don't you search these forums for "watermark". A while ago some guy started that thread and Datatmeister explained the technique quite well. A persistent thief won't mind taking off you copyright symbol.
I assume you all have websites, and your work is being stolen from you website and being put on other student's sites? Remember to keep any and all PSD's, so if it comes down to having to prove the work is yours, you'll have all the PSD's and they won't. Sorry about that mate, hope it clears up.

Yes! Always keep the original PSD with all layers intact, and be careful about sharing that PSD. Sorry to hear you're having intellectual property theft problems. Definitely try using watermarks. There are a lot of ways to do it, and there's always a trade-off: you want your watermark to leave most of the image visible, but that makes the watermark easier to remove. You have to find the balance between readability and permanence. I recommend using patterns of colored pixels distributed throughout the image, forming whatever words or symbols you want. This can be achieved using patterns with random distortions applied.
