I am trying to achieve an "old, yellowed newspaper" look that I can put a typeface on, and I'm not getting what I would call satisfactory results. There is lots of stuff on the web about aging photographs, but I'm trying for something to put text on . . . like an old newspaper clipping. Any tips, or tutorials anybody is aware of?

This is a tutorial on how to create a 3d newspapaer, not exactly what you were looking for, but i think if you follow this tutorial, and then do a colour overlay of bright yellow at say 60% opacity, itll turnit yellow, and then maybe use some brushes to erase bits of the sides, and then apply a drop shadow to make it look old, and torn, sorry its not exactly what you wanted but i tried, if you have any problems, just ask!

I've experimented with creating aged paper in Photoshop. It's a difficult task that really just takes a LOT of layers and a LOT of experimentation. Use a variety of blending modes, brushes, and filters. Study photos of old newsprint to figure out what makes it look the way it does.

Thanks, both of you . . . it's a web graphic, so it doesn't have to be uber-real, just enough to get the point across. I will let you know what I come up with.

What if you Googled "old newspaper" and got one the color you want..
copied a small blank square and made a pattern out of it?

Thanks for everyone's help. I'm afraid that, because of time constraints, I fudged it and came up with something that wasn't that good: ( http://www.themidway.com/feature.php?article=21 ) but I am going to keep all the suggestions and links posted here for future reference.
