hi there
this is probably a stupid question but im going to go ahead anyway...i have a small image, but i need it to be bigger. however, when i expand it, it becomes pixelated and loses its sharpness. is there any way i can make the picture as sharp as it isin small form when in large?
thanks |

Really, it depends on the quality of the original render or image, or the quality of the camera it was taken with (if its a photograph) _________________ www.jerseyhacker.co.uk

even if it's a real good quality pick it will become pixelated if you try to enlarge it too much. I hate when it happens, but now I look for it. |

Theres some enlarging plugins that work pretty well but everything has its limitations. Nothing can add information that does not exist in the picture. So with that said you have a couple of plugins that try to mimic given information to "appear" clearer at larger scales...Photozoom and Genuine Fractals are popular, Jersey Hacker's correct about the Bicubic Smoother.
Most Photoshop books recommend enlarging photos in 10% increments..
Hope this helps

Supposedly the new Bicubic Smoother interpolation does as well, if not better, than the 10% method for uprezzing an image. |
