i am trying to make my brush go along my selection? how do i do this. like i make a selection box and want it to just run my brush along the edge?

Welcome to photoshopforums! If you want to brush along a straight, horizontal or vertical line, you can click at the beginning of the line, then hold shift and drag where you want. The brush will follow the straight line.
