Hi guys,
I'm having an issue with my Tools in CS2, although I had the same problem in CS. After using it for awhile, having more than one window, etc. all the tools stop working. They are clickable on the Tool Bar, but when you try to use them, all I see is the standard mouse cursor.
I'm using Windows XP with Sevice Pack 2.
Any help would be awesome.
Thanks. |

I just had a similar problem. When I select a brush tool (brush, clone stamp, eraser, etc..) the brush size cursor does not display. All I can see is the crosshair. I checked the preferances, and they were set to show brush size. After rebooting my computer it was back to normal.
This problem is fairly common. In school with 20+ people a dy usong PS, it happened about once a week. _________________ brush your hair and comb your teeth |

Cool. Glad it was a quick fix.
But I think the OP has a different (and harder) problem to fix. If the tool changes to a generic cursor, it most likely is a buggy video card driver. (ahh Windows…) Try upgrading video card driver and removing any old video card drivers. |

yeah, i tried updating video card drivers. it's an ATI video card, but since it's a notebook I had to contact the maker (Gateway) for a driver. well, what do you know, there is no update, they've had the same driver for almost 2 years. it's a nice card, i can't believe there's no update for it. well, for now i've turned down the hardware acceleration, seems to help somewhat. if anyone else finds anything to help me out - let me know.
i'm running a Gateway M460(XL) Notebook with Windows XP SP2. The video card is a ATI Radeon X600 128MB Graphics Card.
