Hey, I am pretty new to Photoshop (started using it yesterday), but I have already learned many things about it, though for most I am still in the dark.
So, my problem is: On at least 2 tutorials that I have attempted, they have told me to Layer Blend: Lighten, but everytime that I do that, the whole area where the picture is turns completely white, and it does not change back to the picture untill the Lighten Blend is removed.
So, my question is: What am I doing wrong? I follow the tutorial step by step all the way and I even try going on with the screen completely blank but nothing ever happens except whiteness.
Thanks
By the way, I have Photoshop CS _________________ Had to delete my other sig... grr. |

I don't know what you mean by Layer Blend. Are you referring to the Blending Mode called "Lighten"? _________________ Interested in showcasing your special effects or learning some new ones from the masters? Check out PSFX! |

Well, if the layer you set to Lighten is all white (or the layer underneath is all white), the final blend will be white. The Lighten mode tells Photoshop to compare the layers' colors, pixel by pixel, and only display the brighter pixels. _________________ Interested in showcasing your special effects or learning some new ones from the masters? Ok, I am starting to understand, but the problem is that on the tutorials that I have done, I have worked entirly on the FIRST layer and on that layer I can not change the blending because it is locked, so I start over and make a new layer with the original layer staying white. Could that be the problem? How would I fix it? _________________ Had to delete my other sig... grr. |
