I used to know how to do it, but i forgot how. How do you fade something to another, like:
have one image on layer 2 and another on layer 3, and fade the side of layer one so it looks like they fade together.
or
fade something to white like this

Gallo_Pinto explains the best way to do this in this topic. _________________ Interested in showcasing your special effects or learning some new ones from the masters? Check out PSFX! |

What about a layer mask, with a black to white gradient? that might do it. Wayne |

That's what Gallo_Pinto suggested, and that's what I would use. Crath--if you want a simpler (but more permanent) way, just pick the Eraser tool, pick a large fuzzy brush from the Brush pull-down, and click where you don't want the layer to show. Keep in mind, the only way to bring back what you erase is Undo or Step Backward. _________________ Interested in showcasing your special effects or learning some new ones from the masters? You could place photo 1 on a layer and photo 2 on a second layer.
Then, working on the top layer, add some transparency to position it over the second layer. Return it to 100% and select the eraser tool. Start at a comfortable brush size and about 10% pressure. Begin erasing. You can feather the merge point and just work it. When you've got what you want, merge. _________________ there is no finish line |
