Had a question I was hoping you guys could help with.
When doing this procedure for photo retouching I am getting an end result that is fine sometimes, and others have pixel distortion .. or at least that is the best way I can describe it. Most of the picture will look fine, but some spots are not and look like you can see more pixels then the rest of the pic.

Does anybody have a solution or suggestions for this. Thx in advance. |

I went thourgh the tutorial on a pic that was taken at night with flash. The only thing I can think of is that if the contrast on the new layer was trned way up, that would produce pixelization. Areas of high contrast in the new layer would show pixelization. You could hide the background and look over the new layer for pixelization, then get rid of it with the blur tool.
I didn't notice pixelization in mine, so I'm not a hundred % sure what yours might have looked like.
==EDIT==
I've gone through it again, and noticed the following: If you look at the new layer by itself, it clearly uses two colours- blue and orange. When you increase the contrast on this layer, the blue turns to black and the orange turns to white, and of course as I said before there is serious pixelization at the areas of high contrast. The areas of high contrast in the new layer coincide with areas of contrast between hot and cold colours in the photo.
so the fix is don't go overboard when adjusting contrast, especially in photos with a lot of hot/cold contrast.
hope it helps, I know it wasn't well-worded.. _________________ brush your hair and comb your teeth |

Very much appreciated! That helps a lot, and I'll take a look at it more closely when doing the next one.
Thank you for taking the time to go through that and trying to help. |

I actually found that very interesting, as I have quite a few photos that I should do that to. _________________ brush your hair and comb your teeth |
