Tip of the Week/Month/Year: Dragging Layers
Many of you have probably figured out that you can drag a layer from the layers palette onto another document, but how do you drag more than one? You could just throw all your layers in a set and move that over, but another quicker (and much cooler) way is to link the layers you want to move over and instead of dragging from the layers palette you use the move tool to drag from the document. You'll see your stuff move at first, but once your mouse is over another document, you can drop it and all the linked layers will duplicate themselves to your other document. Pretty neat. I use it often when I don't want to dump my layers into a set before moving them. _________________ Best Regards,

LOL!! I just posted this in another section about 30 mins ago! Great tip though! _________________ All gave some, some gave all.....Lest we forget that war produces veterans, wounded both mentally and physically, and it is our job to help them now, as they have already helped us all in ways we will never know, and in ways that we take for granted every day. |

I'm all miss and no hit today. My bad steve. I'm going to leave it here in the tips section though. I'll probably add another one later to overshadow this one. _________________ Best Regards,

No no no, no problem at all! I wasn't saying it to be rude, or to imply that you were "stepping on my toes" (for lack of a better term, because it appears that you know more about photoshop than I do), just thought that it was funny that it was posted here just after it was posted elsewhere
This is the place to have this tip though, as it is handy and some people don't know how to move multiple layers at once.
Again, great tip, as they all are! _________________ All gave some, some gave all.....Lest we forget that war produces veterans, wounded both mentally and physically, and it is our job to help them now, as they have already helped us all in ways we will never know, and in ways that we take for granted every day. |

If you hold down shift when dragging a layer to a different doc of the same dimensions it automatically places it in the same place as the original or if your dragging it to a doc of different dimensions its centres it. _________________ www.id-sign.co.uk - Free Photoshop brushes, custom shapes, styles and stock photos. |
