Hi
I'm pretty new to photoshop, but I thought this was more of a technique question?
Anway, what I would like to do is take a photo of for example, a bathroom vanity and cirle and highlight a corner - to show the detail, along with the rest of the photo.
Am I making myself clear?
I'd appreciate your thoughts in simple language or steps.

make a selection with the rectangular or eliptical marquee tool ( any selection tool will do)
make a selection on the place you want to edit!
then right click and choose layer via copy,
then move that copy to the place you want it to be on your image,
right click and choose free transform or
go to edit>transform>scale and make it as big as you want! but watch out! the
image quality will go down the bigger you make it, if you would like to stroke
it,
select that layer and choose layer styles in the layer pallette and choose stroke!
hope this helped!

Merci beacoux (sp? english is bad enough) moi.
I blew up a section with the elliptical tool, but I would like the outline of the circle to be a color, yellow or red.
I'm going to attach what I've done. It may not be the best example, but I'll have others for this use.
Any comments and suggestions are appreciated.
Thanks!

select the layer where the image is on that you want to color!
then go to image>adjustments>hue/saturation!
if you select a part of an image and go to Hue/saturation, only the selected part will be colored!
Hope i helped!

you can also (for the stroke effect) right-click on the layer with the circle selection and go to blending options, then at the bottom is 'stroke' chose that and you will be able to change your color accordingly, you could also add a nice drop shadow effect.
