Take a look at this photo and tell me if you think it's been doctored in any way, shape or form, then continue reading.

It actually looks a lot (A LOT!) better when it's printed, or when the dpi is higher. As you may or may not know, I work at an Army base (and was active duty for 5 years). This photo is of some of the first troops to deploy just after 9/11, in support of the war on terror. For some reason, a lot of folks believe that I've doctored this in some way, and usually accuse me of "painting" the soldiers black, and making them look like they are walking on water. Actually, it's a sillohute shot, and they are walking across the tarmac (where a plane loads people) to board the plane to go to Afghanistan.

Trust me, I haven't doctored a thing on it. It was taken with a digital camera (Kodak DCS 660) at max resolution. Please don't take this photo (right click, save as)....if you'd like a copy of it, let me know and I'll email you a higher resolution copy of it. There are no copy rights to it, all that I ask is that credit goes to me, which I'll put in very small print on the photo. If you'd like an actual print of this, you can buy one, just lemme know.

That's a beautiful picture. It's only over the last year that I've been interested in photography, and I know that it can be tough to get a great picture--yet sometimes they come unexpected. This one is great--very powerful, and the colors are just exquisite. Silhouette shots can be very moving. Excellent work, and keep it up!

By the way, it doesn't look doctored to me. Usually, doctored photos look worse than untouched but well-done photos.
