This was a lot trickier with the huge tear to get rid of. Used the clone tool and healing toll to erase the hole and finished it off by colouring it.
Whatcha all think?
Before
and after
first attempt at colouring this one
Wasnt happy, so did it again-

Just one thing. The woman's head.
As the pic was torn and the two halves of the original do not fit together correctly, when your've cloned out the tear you have made the head longer than it should be.
I would have moved the pieces together before I started the restoration.
Otherwise good job.

I agree with what teddc said about the ladies head. Other that that, nicely done. Only thing that I would've done was either leave it black or white or maybe sepia toned to help "preserve" (for lack of a better term) it's age. Then again, if adding color is what you wanted your final product to be, than hats off to you cuz it looks sweet.
Next time you have to scan a torn image, try scanning the 2 pieces of the photo either seperatly or with a small space between them, then cut out the white paper backing w/photoshop then put the 2 halves together until it all looks level and proportional then fill in what ever might still be missing (ie fix the original tear). I've done that a few times and it's easier than trying to place the pieces back together and then scanning it. _________________ All gave some, some gave all.....Lest we forget that war produces veterans, wounded both mentally and physically, and it is our job to help them now, as they have already helped us all in ways we will never know, and in ways that we take for granted every day. |
