I'm making a random site for myself, and I'm wanting to include rollovers on the main page.

An example of one of the rollovers is below.

I want the full stroke around the giraffe marking, the crosshair type thing, and the text to appear when I roll over the giraffe marking.

The text and which marking is highlighted changes for each one.

So, first of all I created a slice around each marking, then did the rollovers and made it show everything on the page I wanted on each 'over' section, saved it, but! when I previewed it, only the stroke inside the slice box showed, not the text, or the stroke that fell outside the boxes (as it's quite close, layout came straight from the giraffe).

So I deleted all the slices hence there's only one left I cant get rid of.

I dont wanna try and simplify it coz I think it looks cool and I don't think it will look good if I just do it in a normal way where they're all listed and just change on rollovers.

Any way to do what I want?

Quick change, I got rid of at least half the crosshair type thing, didn't like it when I looked at it again.

ok I'll show you some pictures of different states.

And i've marked where the mouse would be for each one.

That's what I'm wanting to achieve. The page to look just like that (without the red pencil lol) when the mouse is where it's been marked.

I tried doing it with slices but it just didnt work out at all, and you cant have like two areas change in one rollover state can you? ah i dunno.

I always do rollovers directly within the HTML of the webpage. I write JavaScript to make the rollovers do what I want them to. I find ImageReady's rollover features less than satisfactory. There are tutorials all over the internet on how to do this; you can search for "Javascript rollovers" on Google. It's a little too complex to explain here, and not really on the topic of Photoshop. Good luck!

I've done countless html rollovers, and I'm 99% sure I've got the simplest way. First export images and html for the entire image with all rollover in the off state.

Then export again (just images this time) with all rollovers turned on. Then, open the html generated the first time and remove the images that shuold be rollovers. Then, just insert html rollovers. I do it in dreamweaver. If you neeed help putting in the rollover in dreamweaver, just ask, I'll explain better.
