I have an Olympus C-740 Digital camera and I up load my photos to iPhoto then open them in Photoshop. My problem is that they automatically open at 72 ppi and 28” X 21”. I would like to have them open at 300ppi. I don’t know if I have to make the adjustment in the camera, photoshop or iPhoto. Any suggestions?

Pixels Per Inch is a meaningless figure until you are ready to print. Then it is critical for the proper sizing of your image.

If you never print your image, and just view it on a computer screen, it does not matter if it is 10 ppi or 500 ppi, your computer screen will present it according to the pixel dimensions in direct relation to the pixel dimensions of the screen. Most screens these days are set at 1024 x 768 pixels.

I don't know about your camera, but in Photoshop you can resize your image in - image>image size. You can uncheck the “resample” box, and then set the resolution (ppi) at 300.

Its that easy.
