uh...yea i'm new to photoshop and right now i'm just kinda experimenting...but i got it for making signatures for forums. Anyways i don't know how to open a picture file onto a layer. I will have one picture open as the background then i go to file to open another pic as a layer but it always opens up as a different file. I know how to paste from one then copy it on to a blank layer but that is a tedious job.
Please someone help

That's the way it works! You can drag an image from one window to the other and it will be a new layer. If you want the new layer centered over the background (or lower layer), hold the Shift key while dragging. |
