I wouldn't do it on photoshop... I would use lightwave or solid works. _________________ .shrimpy. |

I would never advice people Lightwave, it doesn't have a bright future. If you don't believe me then check out the Lightwave forum at Cgtalk and read how many times people complain about it and how many have already moved to Maya, XSI and Cinema 4D. |

I'm not a 3D person, I wouldn't really know which one to use other than those two, but to do 3D, photoshop is not the one to use. _________________ .shrimpy. |

If you're doing a 3D character, Animation Master might be the way to go. It's very inexpensive (for a 3D program) and its tools are great for still images AND animations. _________________ Interested in showcasing your special effects or learning some new ones from the masters? Check out PSFX! |

Well, that's really a whole different topic for a whole different forum, but okay! 3D models can be built entirely from scratch, or using photos or drawings for reference. Different programs work different ways. Most modelers use many tiny polygons--which are flat, hard-edge shapes--to create the impression of smooth surfaces. Animation Master is different in that it uses splines and patches, which are truly curved. If you're looking into a 3D program for creating characters, you should look into Animation Master, Cinema 4D, and maybe Lightwave or Maya. Those last two are pretty expensive, though. Probably overkill for your purposes. _________________ Interested in showcasing your special effects or learning some new ones from the masters? Check out PSFX! |
