This isn't supposed to be any work of art. Just an example of FLAMING PEARS capabilities.
This was done with GLITTEROO & LUNAR CELL with a little help from PS lens flare.

i like the planet...the lens flare doesnt look quie right to me maybe its because the image itself is blurry??

Some constructive criticism:
First, you can see through the planet's night side and see stars behind it. It's just like a crescent moon; you'd never see a star within the dark areas of the crescent.
Also, the background appears a little too light. Most of space is just pure black with a sprinkling of stars. You have a lot of grayish areas in the picture that don't show up in real life. There are nebulae, but those are colorful, not gray.
Last but not least, the lens flare. The first problem with it is simply that it's a Photoshop lens flare, made with the standard filter. While it looks cool to someone who's never seen it before, the effect is everywhere now and it tends to look chintzy as a result. I would suggest making your own lens flare effect. Also, be careful with the edges of the lens flare, as cyborg said.
Take these suggestions for what they're worth, and please don't be insulted.

It wasn't meant to be any great shakes as a work of art. In fact it looks downright cheap.
It was just an example of Flaming Pear's filters.
Your criticism is justly deserved. I would have even added 'horrible'
