ive got these two images:
and i need to use the second one as a depth-of-field blur thing to blur the first colour image. ive gone through help and it says you can, but as far as i could tell it didnt tell you how
any help is appreciated

One way:
Load the bw image as an alpha channel in the channel palette of the color picture.
(Copy the bw pic, create new channel in the color pic Channel Palette and paste. You should end up with the bw pic as “Alpha 1” at the bottom of the Channel Palette.)
Click on the top RGB channel to see full color image. Now go to Filter>Blur>Lens Blur. Select source Alpha 1. Set Blur focal distance to Zero (I think this is what you want. It keeps areas corresponding to black in the Alpha channel sharpest.) And adjust Radius to taste. |
