Hey all,

I am having afew problems with the clone stamp tool and I was wondering if there are any good guides out there for the tools usage.

What I am trying to do is create a starfield and need the clone tool to build up the density of stars in certain portions of my image and when I try to clone existing stars it just seems to overwrite the stars and I think i have just worked out what was wrong............I need to change the blending mode.

But still if there any good guides out there would you give me a shout.

Thanks
Dave

Try using new layers for the cloned stars, then thay can be rotated etc seperatly from the rest.

That's one way to do it. If you want to do it in two layers, set the Clone Stamp tool to "Use All Layers" and set the top layer's blending mode to Screen. This will cause stars to be added, not replace the old ones. If it were me, I'd do it all on one layer. Just set the Clone Stamp tool's blending mode to Screen and clone away. No stars will be lost.

I love the Clone Stamp tool. It's so useful when you just want to, say, erase the wheels from under a car or take off someone's head. Cool
