I am quite new to photoshop and i cant seem to cut any pictures out for the signatures i want to do. Its getting me quite mad since i cant do it and ive tried everything. I'm not accurate with the lasso tool and the magic wand tool never copys the thing i wanna cut out. So can you please cut this out for me or show me how to do it. Its a picture of psp and i want the white background gone please. thx

when using the lasso tool zoom in to 200 or 300 or in some cases 400 percent it makes it much easier to get it exact, also for blending burposes you can set the feather of the lasso tool to something and it will fade the edges of what you are cutting very helpful for sigs. I used the lasso for one below and saved it as a transparent gif

The Pen tool is a real good tool for this also. Being new though, you may struggle with it a bit. It's never too early to learn it though. I would give an example, but as I had a post earlier, my pen tool is messed up right now. The above example is a very good use of the lasso tool also. Give the pen tool a try though. You will learn to gain much better control over what you are cutting out.

Im not sure exactly what program you are using, but if its Photoshop, try going under the filter toolbar, select extract. (forgive me for vagueness, but from here its self explanatory) Paint around your edge with the "marker" then fill exactly what you want to subtract from the page with
"save marker", which just fills the inside space with a certain color. Hit Ok and it returns you to the chopped photo. You will have to clean it up with the eraser of course.
This is the most simple way to go about this. I wouldnt even lasso if I were you. It leaves it absent of a background, from there on open a new file and use the move tool.

i think backgroundless was what he was goingfor in this case, the lasso is a nice and simple tool to use whenmaking sigs

Specifically the polygonal lasso tool, if you're using Photoshop.
