Hi --
I am working on a documentary film and we are using a lot still images that we are manipulating in photoshop first. The editor is using an Avid editing system, and so we give her low res versions of the still that we have shrunk down in photoshop so her Avid doesn't overload. Now we burn the low res stills to CDs and then deliver them to her, but she is encountering an issue on her end. When she drags the photos onto her machine she is finding that photoshop will not let her make any changes to the photos, saying that they are locked and she has to save a second file and then delete the original and that becomes a hassle when you are dealing with as many photos as we are. My question is how do we prevent images from being locked?
Thanks |

I'm pretty sure I know what you are talking about, try double-clicking on the layer (usually called background) name it and it should be unlocked. _________________ .shrimpy. |

No need to name it (but it's good practice).
You should always work on a duplicate of the layer, drag the layer onto the new layers icon in the layers palette. _________________ If life serves you lemons, make lemonade! |
