I know there are some previous posts that discuss how to make rectangles with rounded corners. I know how to do that in Photoshop (I'm using 6.0). Those posts aren't exactly what I'm looking for.
What I don't know how to do is quickly create borders with rounded borders. I don't need a solid shape. I need a 3px border with rounded corners. I need the corners of the border.
I suppose I could make a rectangular shape and then try to cut out of the middle what I don't need. Usually when I have to do stuff like that it takes me hours because I keep screwing it up.
So, if anyone knows tips how to create a 3pixel border with rounded corners, preferably using something like a shape tool, I'd appreciate it.
Also, are there any differences to doing beveled rounded corners as opposed to regular corners?
Thanks. |

No, you don't have to do it that way. You can create a shape, add a layer style that strokes it, then go to its advanced blending options and set the fill to 0. Add a mask to hide parts of the stroke. It's that simple |

After you have the rounded selection on your image =>Select menu =>modify => borders =>enter the px value(3px) click OK Here you have rounded 3 px border.
If you want to delete the image inside the rectangle select inverse from the select menu and press delete (this deletes the material on bothe sides of the border)
To come back to your original selection again select inverse from the select menu. |
