I am new to photoshop. I am using photoshop CS1. I am using the Lasso tool to go around a circle, but when I do it is very bad looking as you can see. Is there a way I can get rid of those edges and make it look smooth? Also when I save it as jpeg I just want the circle and nothing else, no white background,is this possible?
Thanks.

Why use the lasso tool? If you prefer a selection tool, use the elliptical marquee tool instead while holding shift and your edges are going to be smooth and razor sharp.
