I am currently working on a CD cover design. All the art is in a 4 panel template (front cover, back cover, inside left and right covers). The project is at a resolution of 300 dpi. My client wants to see a preview of the work. What would be the best way to make preview images for him to view on the net so he can see the work? 300 dpi is huge so he won't be able to view the current art at its normal size on the net (or the work as a whole; will not fit on screen). Any ideas on? Any simple and quick way to either downsize the image or each panel by itself? Anything that will help!? Much appreciation. Thanks.

That seems like it should be real easy. Just downsize the pixel dimensions in the "Image Size" dialog box. Be sure the “Resample” box and the “Constrain proportions” features are checked.

If it is for the web, then "resolution" is completely irrelevant. That only comes into play when an image is going to be printed. All resolution does is tell a printer how many pixels to fit into an inch. Forget about the 300 dpi resolution if you are sizing for the web. Only pixel dimensions matter for the web.

Whether you do all four as one image, or each one as a separate image would be your call.

I would recommend about 600 - 700 pixels wide, that way it should display 100% on any screen set at 800 x 600 and above.

And of course, save the image as a jpeg.

I suppose another way would be a pdf
Or as I sometimes do ftp the image to a site then give the client permission to download it. Make sure you mark it copyright before hand.
