I must have hit some wrong button cause now when I go to use my bucket of paint fill tool it only outlines the space faintly, it doesn't fill.
how can I get my paint of bucket to spilleth over?

are you filling on an empty layer, or on an image? if so go to edit>fill!
also check the fill tolerance, and the blending mode, when you select the fill tool it's in the menu bar, if for example it's set to color burn and your background is white you will not see anything!
