This is an effect for a business card I did some time back maybe 4 years ago, it looks a bit dated now. Then is was state of the art LOL
It was created in Truespace 3 ( a 3d modelling program) and touched up in PS.

Comment would be appreciated. The job has long ago. The customer loved it (back in 1998) :)
I agree now with WhoMike regarding the text (ugh) and it's not one of my better cards.
It was mainly posted for what could be done then with 3d rendering

i agree with you teddc 3d rendering is pretty cool if you want to take
digital imaging a step further, but i have experianced that it isn't anywhere
near photoshop when it comes to learning it quickly!
i'm currently working on a 3d still, and i must say the texturing part
seems like it's gonna be the hardest, at least for me! photoshop will come in handy there to!

anyway, that looks pretty good especially because it's done in 1998 a lot of 3d progs weren't even out back then!

I had one request back then for a business card with a design of the Sydney Harbour Bridge at sunset being massaged by a pair of hands.

The challenges some clients set. Well I did it using a pair of 3d hands I found on the internet and the rest in PS

Great comments guys. LOL. What a hoot.

Other 3d artists could do a lot then, it's just that I couldn't. After all 'Toy Story' came out about that time.

If you want to see a few of the other 'challenges' from that bygone era I will post 'em. All of them where either asssembled or cleaned up in PS.
