I've been asked to provide a grayscale image of a drawing I have scanned that has the highlights and shadows adjusted so that the 'blackest black prints at 85% and the lightest light is at 5%'. Can someone explain how I can use the level adjustment to do this. |

One way…
Open up your Grayscale file, open Levels. Double-click on white point eyedropper and set Brightness (the “B” in the HSB, with H and S set to zero) to 95%, double–click on black point eyedropper and set Brightness to 15%. Now click on Auto in the Levels dialog. That should do it.
There may be a simpler way...? |
