Hello all,

how would i get just the fire off of theses types of pics ? :



Im trying to make a sig with the name "spin" on it that is made out of the fire from these and other pics, then i want to use this :



as the dot for the i.

I could do the dot :) resize and copy it then paste as a new layer. Or would that be a transparent image ? i dont know the differance yet.

I am right at the beginning with photoshop, so would appreciate any help here. Ive tried to magic wand the fire and ive tried doing it manually by using the .. freehand ??.. tool. I just cant get the nice flicks and fine details from the flames though and its bugging me.
