Here are three images that were submitted for b/ground choice (the middle one was accepted) notice the hair detail.
This was achieved in less than a minute in Knockout.
I had about a hundred of these to do, and I wouldn't have been able to make a profit using another methods.

Exceptional teddc.
Does Knockout provide a mask? One thing I don’t like about PS Extract feature is it does not give you a mask (or I don’t see the choice for that). All it does is… extract.

Yep
It will save the mask along with the deep etch.
No serious PSer should be without it.

azz-
Corel Knockout is a stand alone masking program something like PS Filter EXTACT.
It can isolate individual hairs, transparent objects like glass and soap bubbles and also shadows.
I think there is a trial download from the Corel site.
It might be worth taking a look

Here is an actual job for a business card. There is a bit more text to be added when the layout is client approved.
I used Knockout to isolate the dog.
There was a bit of cleaning up to do and a little manipulation here and there, like the lead mark on her kneck, lenghthen the muzzle and enrich the tan colouring
