OK...there is no text being displayed when I type. I create a background layer(black), then create a text layer, using green text, and when I type nothing is being displayed. |

Try resetting your Character Palette (last choice in its flippy-triangle-drop-down-menu… is there another name for that?)
And be sure you are not drawing a text-box. Just click once with the text tool and start typing (don’t click and drag, even a little bit.)
And make sure your Info Palette is closed. (though, I think that is just a Mac issue) |

Typically the text color will come from the Foreground color, so be sure your foreground color is set to Green. |
