Why do image sizes increase when re-saved in picture applica

Posted: Fri Apr 08, 2005 1:07 am Post subject: Why do image sizes increase when re-saved in picture applica

I've got a bunch of pictures that I took that I rotated using Google Picasa and the file size for the whole directory increased from 120MB to 160! (there are 120 pictures, I rotated maybe 10 of them). I notice the image size increases using Photoshop as well. What's the deal?
