Hi, Im new here and also new to photoshop.
I have an image that I want to use in a website. The website will have a white background. I want to use some effects in the picture so the borders can disapear, like the picture was fading in the white background. How can I do it?
I hope you can understand what I'm trying to say here...

Can you point us to, or post an example of what you want?

Ok First you want to flatten your image if the image isn't already flattened.
Then you want to duplicate the image by left clicking and draging it down on to the new page marker ion the layers palette.
Then you want to make a new layer between the duplicated image and the orrginal image and fill it with white.
then you want to go into your duplicate image and add a layer mask (the key to the operation) by going in to layer, add layer mask, reveal all
You then want to get your colors to black and white by pressing "d" for default.
now you want to get your gradinet tool by pressing the "g" key.
Make sure you have the linere gradinet selected at the top.
Now by left clicking the mouse and holding shift down at the same time you want to drag your mouse over to where you would like. Black paint is reveal and the white paint is non reveal in this case and method.
That should do it for you.
Let me know how it goes. :-)
