A scratch disk is space dedicated on a hard drive for temporary storage of data. Scratch disks are commonly used in graphic design programs, such as Adobe Photoshop. Scratch disk space is only for temporary storage and cannot be used for permanently backing up files. Scratch disks can be set to erase all data at regular intervals so that the disk space is left free for future use. The management of scratch disk space is typically dynamic, occurring when needed.
Its pretty much whenever you do something in photoshop (i.e. a brush stroke or applying a filter setting) it goes onto your scratch disk. Since your scratch disk is currently on the same drive as the rest of photoshop, your photoshop program is not responding correctly due to a sort of memory overload. |

haha
Get a program partition magic to create a new partition, or uninstall windows or mac, etc. Then re-install using the advanced installation and create a new partition that way. |
