Hello, I'm a noob here, just signed up today, hope you guys here can help me out. Here is my problem.
I did a product photoshoot for a friend starting a cookie business. I then also created some business cards and menus using photos I took. Printing the psd files from files in RGB color space, on my inkjet printer, they print almost exactly as seen on screen. Printing the psd files from files in CMYK color space, they come out very dark. Coverting a file from CMYK to RGB, they print fine again.
Ok, so I know there is a difference between RGB and CMYK. Your monitor uses RGB and a printer uses CMYK. But why do the two different files, only difference being color space, and no noticable difference in look on the monitor between the RGB file and the CMYK file, print so differently? If Photoshop can send the right colors from a RGB file to my printer, why does it not send the right colors to the printer when the file is in CMYK?
These files were also sent to two different print shops, first printer as RGB file and as CMYK file, and the second printer just as a CMYK file, but when they go to print them, they look like my results with my printer printing from the CMYK file.
What am I missing or doing wrong?
TIA for any help. |
