I searched and didn't find anything on the subject, though It is probably out there and I just missed it, but my question is this.

I've recently started playing around with photoshop, and while I don't really know what I'm doing yet, I get things made, and they look fairly good, but when I save them they lose a lot of quality, so I'm wondering what is the best thing to save it as.

I don't really know, and tried jpeg and gifs so I could put them on a website, but it still lost enough quality that I didn't want to do it, and I'm unfamiliar with png, so I'm not sure what to do there.

Depends on the image really. Can you post some examples so we can see what kind of design your doing?

Most of it is ok, but on the right half it starts to... I don't know what the word is, wavy maybe?
